TUIOS is an open-source terminal multiplexer and tiling window manager written in Go that understands the coding agents running in its panes.
It shows each agent's state, collects approvals and questions into a single Inbox across sessions and machines, and can fan one prompt out to several agents in separate git worktrees.
- 01
Per-pane agent state (working, needs_input, idle, done, errored) via installed harness hooks
- 02
Unified Inbox for approvals, questions, mail and finished turns across sessions and hosts
- 03
tuios fan to run one prompt across multiple agents in isolated git worktrees
- 04
MCP server and tmux shim so agents and tmux-only tools can drive TUIOS
- 05
Daemon-mode sessions that survive restarts, BSP tiling and kitty/sixel graphics
Free
TUIOS is free and open source under the MIT License, distributed through Homebrew, AUR, Nix, Docker, Go install and an install script.
Best for
Terminal-centric developers supervising several Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI or OpenCode agents at once who want one place to see what needs attention.
Not ideal for
Users who prefer a GUI agent manager or are happy with plain tmux, since TUIOS introduces its own keybindings and workflow.
A fast-moving, agent-aware multiplexer that makes running a fleet of terminal coding agents far more manageable.
Releases v0.8.2 through v0.8.4 added a scratch terminal, picture-in-picture, pane history across daemon restarts, sixel images, image paste and tuios xpanes, followed by fixes.
