ccgui is a multi-engine AI coding desktop client built with Tauri 2, React 18, TypeScript and Rust. Instead of watching a black terminal, you pick a project and chat with Claude Code, Codex CLI, Kimi CLI, Grok CLI, Pi, OMP, DeepSeek Harness (DSH), Antigravity, OpenCode or Qoder, each wired in through a dedicated protocol adapter in the Rust backend so streaming events, session history and provider channels are handled natively rather than scraped off a terminal screen. The chat surface renders per-token streaming with cached syntax highlighting, folding thinking traces, live tool-call rows with Git diff and Bash viewers, todo snapshots, question cards and permission prompts, and supports per-tab model and reasoning-effort overrides. Around it sit a virtualized Git-aware file tree with a CodeMirror editor, a PTY-backed xterm terminal, a Git panel, a command palette, a first-party plugin SDK, proxy settings and token-authenticated LAN web access with a QR-code entry so you can drive sessions from another device. Provider channels are written to each CLI's own native config files with presets for GLM, Kimi, DeepSeek, MiniMax, MiMo, Bailian, OpenRouter and more, and can be imported from CC Switch.

ccgui shipped v1.0.8 and v1.0.9 on 23-24 September 2026 and reached GitHub's daily trending list with about 4,400 stars; recent releases added Qoder and Antigravity adapters, DeepSeek Harness support, an OMP fast-mode toggle and the plugin runtime.

ccgui (Desktop CC GUI) is free and open source under the MIT license, with signed macOS (Apple Silicon) builds plus Windows and Linux installers on GitHub Releases and in-app auto-update. It is a client only: model usage is billed by whichever CLI subscription or API provider channel you configure for each engine.

Verdict

ccgui is one of the broadest multi-engine desktop front-ends available for CLI coding agents, with unusually deep per-engine adapters and a compatibility matrix that is honest about gaps; it is young and fast-moving, but already a practical alternative to running ten different CLIs in ten terminals.
